Overview
Position: Production Planner
We are seeking an experienced Production Planner to join our team at Wabtec Rail Limited based in Burton on Trent. We support our customers through maintenance and operation optimisation with customised solutions for spare parts, repair, and overhaul activities on existing trains.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain detailed production schedules from receipt to delivery.
- Coordinate activities across various departments, including Raft Strip, Engine Strip, Transmission Strip, Radiator Clean and Test, Paint, Final Test, etc.
- Prepare and present regular reports on production performance and schedule adherence.
- Monitor labour availability and utilisation to ensure optimal productivity.
- Conduct variance analysis to identify discrepancies between planned and actual production and implement corrective actions.
- Monitor production progress and adjust schedules as necessary to address delays or issues.
- Analyse production data and performance metrics to identify areas for improvement.
- Ensure compliance with safety and quality standards in all production activities.
- Communicate effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders to provide updates on production status.
- Manage finished stock inventory levels to ensure availability.
Qualifications
- Proven experience in production planning, preferably in an engineering or manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of production processes and supply chain management.
- Experience with ERP systems.
- Proficiency in production planning software and tools.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.

Hours: Monday to Thursday 08:00 to 16:30, Friday 08:00 to 13:00, 37 hours per week
