Job Description

Who will you be working with?

Bearward Engineering is a Northampton based firm manufacturing radiators for the power generation industry.

How will you make a difference?

As a member of the Assembly department team, working on the 1400-2200 shift (38 hours/week) Monday to Friday, you will be responsible for transporting finished product using Company van/reach flt.

Role Purpose

To safely transport industrial radiators from the assembly line to the inspection building using forklift and/or company van

Carry out a final visual and basic quality inspection to ensure only compliant products are passed forward to the inspection team

  • Material Handling & Transport Responsibilities
  • Operate forklift trucks and company vehicles safely
  • Transport finished radiators from assembly to inspection areas in line with production requirements
  • Ensure loads are secure and handled without damage
  • Follow site traffic routes, safety rules, and speed limits
  • Load and unload radiators carefully
  • Final Inspection Responsibilities
  • Carry out visual inspection of radiators before transfer
  • Check for damage, missing parts, or quality concerns
  • Verify completion of route cards and documentation
  • Segregate non-conforming products
  • Report defects to production or quality teams
  • Quality & Compliance
  • Ensure only acceptable products are passed to inspection
  • Maintain traceability through accurate documentation or scanning
  • Follow all quality procedures and work instructions
  • Health & Safety
  • Operate equipment in line with site safety procedures
  • Carry out daily forklift and vehicle checks
  • Maintain awareness of pedestrians and hazards
  • Wear required PPE at all times
  • Report incidents, near misses, or unsafe conditions

Skills & Experience (Essential)

  • Valid forklift license
  • Clean UK drivers license
  • Experience in manufacturing or industrial environment
  • Basic understanding of visual inspection and defect identification
