Who will you be working with?

We are seeking an experienced Material Planner to join our team at the LH Group (a Division of Wabtec UK Ltd) based in Burton on Trent. We support our customers through maintenance and operation optimisation with customised solutions for spare parts, repair, and overhaul activities on existing trains.

  • Monday to Thursday 08:00 to 16:30 and Friday 08:00 to 13:00, 37 hours per week

Contract Type:

  • Permanent, Full-Time

How will you make a difference?

Within the production department you will be responsible for planning and monitoring the materials and products used by LH Group. You will ensure that the business doesn\’t run out of the materials required to maintain production. This will be achieved by coordinating, planning and controlling supplier orders, schedules, and forecasts.

What will your typical day look like?

  • Manage materials and support engineering change, project/program launch and run out with minimal business impact.
  • Generate and control supplier performance to achieve key performance indicators.
  • Manage component availability issues and communicate effectively to ensure closure and elimination of recurrence.
  • Review forecast material requirements, report supply chain concerns/ability to meet customer orders and implement inventory optimisation strategies.
  • Deliver supply chain solutions in project teams, undertake other material planner activities as instructed, and maintain health and safety practices.

  • Previous experience within a planning role is desirable.
  • Able to work autonomously with strong planning and organisational skills.
  • Good problem‑solving and negotiation skills.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to present information to all levels.
  • IT literate.
