Overview
Melett Ltd, a Wabtec Company, is recruiting an experienced Credit Controller to join their team in Barnsley.
Position: Credit Controller
Salary: £Competitive
Location: S75 1HT, Barnsley (Onsite)
Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday 08:00 am to 17:00 pm (flexible)
Contract Type: Permanent, Full-Time
Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary Finance contact for the Melett Group, overseeing all matters related to credit control and customer invoicing. Provide flexible support to the wider Finance team by assisting with ad-hoc tasks as needed.
- Proactively monitor the debtor’s ledger, focusing on collecting overdue debts from an international customer base in a timely manner.
- Monitor the company bank accounts to assist the Shared Services Cash Application team with posting cash receipts.
- Prepare weekly bank reconciliations for all bank and cash balances.
- Regularly housekeeping the sales ledger to ensure transactions are allocated correctly.
- Work with the Sales Office Manager to ensure payment is made correctly and on time for all customers who pay by credit card.
- Contact customers for payment and maintain records within the ERP system of contact made.
- Produce and issue regular statements to customers.
- Produce weekly reports showing Group customer account status for review by Group FC and the Group FD.
Qualifications
- Prior experience of credit control, particularly in an environment with a large volume of customers.
- Having an Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT) or Chartered Institute of Credit Management (CICM) qualifications is desirable.
- Be an effective communicator with key stakeholders both internal and external.
- Experience of working in a team.
- Proficient user of the Microsoft Office suite of products, particularly Excel & Word.
- Excellent attention to detail.
