We are seeking an experienced Resource Assistant to support the Resource Manager at LH Group (a Division of Wabtec UK Ltd) in Burton on Trent, ensuring consistent staff management, timely escalation, and effective deployment of staffing across the operation.
Role Details
- Salary: £Competitive
- Location: Burton on Trent, Staffordshire (DE13 8EN)
- Hours: Monday to Thursday 08:00am to 16:30pm and Friday 08:00am to 13:00pm, 37 hours per week
- Contract Type: Permanent, Full‑Time
How will you make a difference?
You will be responsible for ensuring the relevant employees are trained, competent and engaged in the necessary areas of the operations business on a daily and weekly basis.
Responsibilities
- Develop training plans with Production Managers and hold regular meetings to ensure compliance.
- Coordinate external training with the Competency team to meet competency requirements.
- Maintain accurate, auditable training records with the Competence department.
- Conduct return‑to‑work interviews as required.
- Ensure Tensor data is accurate and up to date.
- Work with HR to action permanent changes in Workday.
- Monitor attendance issues, including absence irregularities and lateness; liaise with HR and conduct necessary meetings such as RTW, investigations, and initial performance management.
- Liaise with recruitment agencies to manage staffing needs, including PO requests, pre‑employment processes, and leavers.
- Support Operations and Production Managers with ad‑hoc projects related to SLAs and KPIs.
- Assist the Resource Manager in ensuring Production Managers and Team Leaders maintain optimal staffing levels.
Qualifications
- Previous administrative experience (preferably within an operations environment)
- Basic understanding of HR Management of staff
- Excellent IT skills proficient in Microsoft Office
- Experience in Excel Wraps, Workday and Time & Attendance software (preferred)
