The Role
As a key member of my clients engineering team, you will take ownership of mechanical design tasks from concept through to production, supporting the delivery of high-quality, cost-effective solutions. You will work closely with engineers, project managers and clients to create detailed 3D models and technical drawings, ensuring designs meet all necessary requirements and industry standards.
Responsibilities
- Produce accurate 3D CAD models and 2D manufacturing drawings
- Assist in developing mechanical designs from concept to completion
- Modify and update existing designs based on project or client requirements
- Collaborate with the wider engineering and production teams
- Perform basic engineering calculations and ensure designs meet specifications
- Support prototype builds and testing as required
- Maintain document control and design revision history
Requirements
- Proven experience in a similar Mechanical CAD or Design Engineering role
- HVAC experience
- Proficient in 3D CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar)
- Strong understanding of mechanical principles, tolerances, and materials
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Effective communication and team-working abilities
- HND, Degree or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering or related field
