HVAC Estimator / Pre-Construction Manager Are you an experienced HVAC professional who enjoys taking a project from initial enquiry, shaping the solution and ultimately winning the work? We're recruiting for an experienced HVAC Estimator / Pre-Construction Manager to join an established business where you'll take genuine ownership of projects from the very first conversation through to successful handover to the delivery team. This is much more than simply putting numbers against a tender. You'll bring together the commercial, technical and practical elements of each opportunity, working closely with Business Development, Design, CAD, suppliers and clients to create competitive, well-considered solutions. 📜 What you'll be doing Managing enquiries and tenders from initial receipt through to order and handover Reviewing tender documents, specifications and design criteria Developing HVAC solutions for both fully designed and clean-sheet projects Preparing detailed estimates, cost plans and selling prices Coordinating internal design, CAD and commercial resources Obtaining and evaluating supplier and subcontractor quotations Carrying out site surveys of existing and proposed installations Working closely with clients, consultants and supply-chain partners Preparing professional tender presentations including designs, specifications, equipment schedules, costs, programmes and value-engineering options Presenting proposals and helping negotiate projects through to successful order Supporting contract negotiations alongside the commercial team Conducting comprehensive handovers to project delivery teams, highlighting risks, opportunities, preferred suppliers and long-lead items Attending pre and post-contract meetings to support delivery and maintain strong client relationships Contributing ideas to continually improve internal systems and processes ✔️ What we're looking for You'll need strong, practical knowledge of the HVAC industry, alongside previous experience within the construction sector. Ideally, you'll also bring: Experience within HVAC estimating, tendering, pre-construction or a similar commercially focused role The ability to interpret tender documentation and develop commercially viable solutions Knowledge of associated mechanical systems, with electrical knowledge advantageous Excellent commercial awareness Strong IT skills Confident communication and negotiation skills The ability to build strong relationships with clients, suppliers and internal teams A proactive approach and the confidence to take ownership of projects A relevant degree or professional qualification would be advantageous, although experience and industry knowledge are equally important 🌟 The opportunity This would suit someone who likes having real involvement in a project rather than just estimating from behind a desk.
