Digital Media Specialist (Taxonomist)

Required for a fully-remote contract with a London-based client, a digital media consultant with a specialism in Taxonomies.

Role:

1. Evolve and maintain taxonomies
2. Collaborate with subject matter experts and coordinate alignment with stakeholders
3. Design models that represent specialized knowledge and points of view, with the flexibility to cover a growing set of global contexts and content domains
4. Maintain mappings between datasets
5. Participate in cross-functional groups for governing change

Experience:

1. Have a degree in library or information science
2. Experience developing taxonomies
3. Background in media
4. Experience using book publishing industry schemas (BISAC, Thema)
5. Familiarity with taxonomy management platforms using standards (RDF)
6. Comfortable working with distributed teams across multiple timezones
