The Opportunity

W1M is seeking an experienced and commercially minded Senior HR Business Partner to join the HR team during an exciting period of growth, integration and organisational evolution who will play an important role in helping shape and strengthen the next phase of the HR function. We are looking for someone who combines strong HR fundamentals with a pragmatic, delivery-focused and commercially aware approach. The successful individual will be comfortable operating both strategically and tactically, partnering closely with senior stakeholders whilst also being willing to roll up their sleeves and deliver. This role would suit someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced and evolving environment and who is energised by change, integration activity and helping businesses scale.

About the Role

The Senior HR Business Partner will work closely with the Chief People Officer and business leaders across the organisation, supporting a broad range of strategic and operational HR initiatives. The role will partner directly with senior stakeholders across the business and play a key role in organisational change, workforce planning, integration activity, employee relations, talent management and HR strategy execution. This is a broad and visible role within a lean HR function and requires someone who is comfortable operating with autonomy, judgement and pace.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Business Partnering
    • Partner with senior leaders to support business objectives, organisational effectiveness and HR strategy execution
    • Provide commercially focused HR advice and challenge to stakeholders across the business
    • Support organisational design, workforce planning and business change activity
    • Act as a trusted advisor on leadership, team effectiveness and organisational issues
    • Support the delivery of integration and transformation initiatives across the business
  • Employee Relations & HR Advisory
    • Lead and manage complex employee relations matters including performance, conduct, grievance and absence management
    • Provide pragmatic and risk-aware HR guidance aligned to employment law and business needs
    • Support managers through sensitive and high-impact HR matters
    • Ensure HR practices remain compliant, consistent and commercially balanced
  • Talent, Performance & Development
    • Support talent and succession planning activity across the business
    • Partner with leaders on performance management and development discussions
    • Support initiatives relating to engagement, retention and culture
    • Coach and support managers in developing leadership capability
  • Change & Integration Activity
    • Support organisational change programmes, integration activity and business growth initiatives
    • Assist with acquisitions, restructuring and organisational transition activity where required
    • Help embed consistent people processes, frameworks and ways of working across the business
  • HR Projects & Operational Support
    • Lead and support People projects across a broad range of HR areas
    • Work closely with HR Operations and the wider HR team to ensure effective delivery of HR processes
    • Contribute to the ongoing evolution and maturity of the HR function
    • Support policy development and HR governance activity where required

About You

We are looking for someone who is credible, pragmatic and highly delivery focused. The successful candidate is likely to:

  • Have strong demonstrable HR Business Partnering experience within a fast-paced environment
  • Be commercially minded and comfortable working closely with senior stakeholders
  • Be comfortable operating both strategically and operationally
  • Enjoy working in environments experiencing change, growth or integration
  • Be confident managing complexity and ambiguity
  • Have strong judgement and a pragmatic approach to problem solving
  • Be resilient, proactive and able to work at pace
  • Build strong relationships whilst also being willing to challenge constructively where needed

Experience & Qualifications

  • Proven HR Business Partnering experience at a senior level
  • Financial services experience required
  • Strong employee relations and employment law experience
  • Experience supporting organisational change and business transformation activity
  • Experience partnering with senior leadership teams
