Role Objectives
6 month Fixed Term Contract role to provide comprehensive support to the Legal & Governance team and business operations, ensuring efficient handling of legal, administrative, and compliance tasks. The paralegal will play a key role in enabling the smooth operation of the Legal & Governance function, in particular, assist with a large supplier novation exercise to complete an internal corporate reorganisation exercise.
Key Accountabilities
Novation exercise
- Manage intragroup supplier novation process for 2 group companies.
- This is to include, liaising with Business Unit Heads; track progress of novation agreements sent, responses and final signature; be the first port of call for comments from suppliers; and assist with negotiation, review and drafting of potential amendments to agreements.
Contract Management
- Ensuring final versions of contracts and contract control forms are reviewed and properly stored.
- Maintaining the contract register and supporting the contract management system.
Legal Support Work
- Assisting in NDA reviews, creating and maintaining an NDA register.
- Supporting project work, including M&A opportunities assistance.
- Assisting on contract reviews and contract review support work.
- Preparing, reviewing, and managing legal documents such as letters, signed agreements, and certified copies.
- Preparing letters and agreements for Board/Company Secretary signature
- Assisting with document production using MS Office tools, like PowerPoint.
- Following up on outstanding tasks for the Legal & Governance Team, such as gathering DMAs, where required.
- Organizing and maintaining electronic filing systems, including advice filings.
Data Protection
- Assisting the Data Privacy Manager in maintaining the Breach register and work on the Records of Processing Activities (ROPA).
- Coordinating with stakeholders to ensure compliance with data protection regulations.
Company Secretarial Assistance
General assistance to the Company Secretary, including assisting in annual reviews of Terms of Reference for boards and committees, annual reviews of meeting cycles, board skills gap analysis, board performance reviews as required.
Background / Experience
Essential
- Experience in commercial contracts.
- Familiarity with document management systems and legal processes.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Basic knowledge of MS Office 365 Software for document and presentation creation.
Advantageous
- Experience with project-based legal work, such as repapering or supplier notices.
- Knowledge of data protection regulations and compliance requirements (e.g., ROPA).
- Experience with contract management systems and maintaining contract registers.

Qualifications Desired:
- Strong academic qualifications from degree upwards.
