The predicted salary is between 60000 - 80000 £ per year.
This role is well suited for someone with a foundational understanding of operational risk who is looking to deepen their experience within a regulated financial services environment. It offers the opportunity to take on meaningful responsibility from the outset, supporting the ongoing development of our operational risk framework, systems, and controls as part of a growing and evolving business. You will play a key role in shaping how risk is managed across the organisation, gaining hands-on exposure to a broad range of risk, regulatory and governance activities.
Support the Operational Risk Manager in the development, implementation and maintenance of the operational risk management framework.
- Assist with the Internal Capital Adequacy and Risk Assessment (ICARA) process, including:
- Collection, validation and analysis of risk data inputs
- Support with risk identification, assessment and documentation across business areas
- Preparation of analysis for risk scenarios, harms and operational resilience assessments
- Maintain and update risk registers, ensuring risks, controls, actions and ownership are accurately recorded
- Support monitoring and reporting of Key Risk Indicators (KRIs) and emerging risks
- Assist in the analysis of incidents, errors, breaches and near misses, including root cause analysis and tracking of remediation actions
- Support oversight of third-party and outsourcing risk, including due diligence and ongoing monitoring
- Engage with stakeholders across the business to promote risk awareness and a strong risk culture
- Provide analytical support on regulatory, risk and governance matters as required
- Support tracking and closure of internal audit actions
Previous experience in risk, compliance, audit, finance or a control function is required. Exposure to a UK regulated environment, ideally financial services, is essential. Understanding of operational risk concepts, including risk identification, controls, incidents and governance is necessary. Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and identify themes are important. Awareness of FCA regulatory frameworks, ICARA and IFPR is desirable.
We are looking for someone who is curious, detail-oriented, and keen to build a career in operational risk within a regulated financial services environment. Comfortable working with data and documentation, interested in developing your understanding of risk and regulation, and collaborative and confident working with different teams across the business.
