Exciting opportunity to take your career to the next level as a sales and marketing professional to lead our business development activity within the Charities sector, working closely with the whole team as well as wider business units (Investments, Marketing etc). We are open to people from diverse backgrounds but do need someone with a desire to expand on current knowledge of financial markets and investment products who is confident directly interacting with clients, attending events / conferences that can build rapport and trust. About the Company W1M was founded with the merger of London & Capital and Waverton, two well established Wealth Managers who both have 40 years of history, in 2024. Since the merger we have gone from strength to strength growing from roughly 250 people to over 400 and increasing our AUM to around £27 billion. We focus on working with High and Ultra-High-Net-Worth individuals and families, Charities and Institutions offering a one stop shop for all wealth planning, investment and tax services including multi-jurisdictional situations. Beyond our direct client relationships, we also maintain longstanding partnerships with Independent Financial Advisers providing access to our market-leading investment solutions. We are continuing to expand with ambitious plans to increase our AUM to over £50 billion by 2030 based on the foundation of the quality of advice and services we provide to our clients, alongside peer-leading investment performance. Key Responsibilities
- To lead our Business Development activity within the Charities space via:
- Business Development & Go-to-Market Activity
- Development and management of comprehensive CRM system involving various multi-channel initiatives (mail outs, newsletters, investment insight papers etc)
- Events and conferences
- Videos and written articles
- Plan and implement meetings and updates with prospective clients and introducers
- Chair and coordinate quarterly team meetings to update on marketing, sales strategy, ongoing opportunities, potential opportunities and events
- Write sales and marketing sections of Board report / MANCO reports
- Initial coordination of RFP’s and final proofreading; editing and re-writes as necessary to assist with team’s workload
- Management of presentations; briefing Investment Managers, profiling of board members and ensuring presentations are on message
- Ability or aspiration to present to potential / current clients in suitable situations
- Management / coordination of Charity templates and documents
- Thought leadership guides to help client base
- Sector partnerships
- Networking & Events
- Attend sector conferences, charity sector finance meetings and workshops, and professional networking events (c.20-30 per annum)
- Create and undertake internal workshops
- Advertise where and when appropriate (creating adverts with marketing team)
- Manage charity PR opportunities
Background / Experience and Competencies Required
Specific sales / business development experience within the Charities sector is NOT essential. What we do need:
- Direct experience and interest working within Investments / Financial Markets
- Articulate with strong communication skills across all mediums
- Strong influencing skills to interact across internal teams
- Proven time management skills with ability plan and prioritise workload while maintaining high quality work
- Ability to work under pressure with solid decision‑making skills
- Self‑starter with high work ethic
