Job Summary
The Associate will support the London Power and Renewables Investments and development team within GE Vernova Financial Services. The role involves sourcing, analyzing, and closing financial transactions by conducting due diligence and financial modelling. Opportunities to advance strategic initiatives and project development across GE Vernova’s portfolio of energy transition technologies—including wind, electrification, small modular nuclear, direct air capture, and more—are also available.
Responsibilities
- Analyze and/or develop financial models and projections.
- Prepare detailed financial models and perform sensitivity analyses on market, technical, financing, taxation, and other drivers.
- Assist in preparing financial proposals to accompany technical and commercial offers to customers.
- Conduct industry/company research, including risk analysis.
- Perform valuation analysis for projects and companies.
- Run a competitive process to select the most appropriate financial institution for specific transactions.
- Execute due diligence and underwriting of large and complex energy project finance investments, reviewing legal documentation and consultant reports such as market studies and independent engineer reports.
- Assist in preparing approval requests and other supporting documentation for internal approval processes and reports.
- Maintain deal management information systems.
- Develop and execute operational improvement projects.
- Protect and realize the value of portfolio investments through monitoring key performance indicators, evaluating project modifications/restructurings, and executing asset sales.
- Provide performance analytics on historical and targeted deal closings and support the development of efficient analytical tools.
- Handle projects to ensure administrative compliance with deal terms and establish, implement, and monitor reporting metrics for Operations.
- Support GE Vernova strategic initiatives, special projects, and new business development opportunities.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree with experience in a financial services environment or equivalent knowledge.
- Understanding of financial statements and basic accounting.
- Good oral and written communication skills at all levels; collaborative.
- Proficient use of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Legal authorization to work in the UK (GE will not sponsor individuals for employment visas).
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, or Economics; MBA or equivalent knowledge.
- Familiarity with commercial, financial, loan, and equity products.
- Exposure to the Energy Industry.
- Skilled communicator who can exchange ideas and information concisely and logically.
- Excellent written, oral, and interpersonal skills.
- Additional languages (French, German, Italian) would be an advantage.
