W Talent are supporting a market leading manufacturer in finding a new Contracts and Commercial Manager based from their South Yorkshire facility. Our customer is a market leader of industrial products, providing high-quality solutions to customers across various sectors. They specialise in designing, manufacturing, and installing bespoke industrial systems, ensuring reliability, efficiency, and compliance with industry standards.

The incoming incumbent will oversee the contracts, installation, commissioning, and aftercare of all industrial products on customer sites. They will manage a team made up of commercial, engineering and contracts skills ensuring all projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. This role requires a strong background in contract delivery management, management of technical professionals, strong finance acumen and customer service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, coordinate, and oversee all on-site installations and service activities.
  • Ensure projects are executed efficiently, meeting deadlines, quality standards, and customer expectations.
  • Develop and maintain project schedules, resource allocation plans, and risk assessments.
  • Liaise with internal teams (engineering, production, and logistics) to ensure seamless delivery of products and services.
  • Champion a strong safety culture, ensuring compliance with HSE regulations and company policies.
  • Conduct risk assessments and implement control measures to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Ensure all site personnel are trained and adhere to safety protocols, including method statements and permit-to-work systems.
  • Manage site audits, inspections, and compliance documentation.
  • Lead and develop a team made of commercial, engineering and contracts skills, including subcontractors.
  • Conduct performance reviews, training, and development initiatives to enhance team capabilities.
  • Ensure all personnel are equipped with the necessary tools, PPE, and technical knowledge for their tasks.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for clients, providing regular updates and addressing concerns.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, suppliers, and subcontractors.
  • Work closely with sales and aftersales teams to support customer requirements and identify new service opportunities.
  • Manage all projects with a focus on budgets, cost control, and financial reporting.
  • Ensure efficient resource utilization to maximize profitability.
  • Oversee subcontractor agreements, ensuring work is delivered to the agreed scope and cost.

  • Proven experience in a similar role within an industrial manufacturing, engineering, utilities or construction environment is essential.
  • Ability to engage, empower and lead a contract focused business is essential.
  • Strong knowledge of end to end project delivery of industrial products is required.
  • Proven commercial and financial capability is essential.
  • A structured and methodical systems approach is required.
  • Extensive knowledge of contract management and compliance is highly advantageous.
