Are you a strategic thinker with a sharp eye for value and a passion for procurement? We're on the lookout for a Senior Buyer to join our growing team in Leicester.
In this key role, you’ll take the lead on sourcing and supplier strategy, managing critical relationships, and driving cost-effective purchasing decisions that make a real impact. You'll work closely with stakeholders across the business, ensuring that quality, cost, and delivery targets are met and exceeded.
What you'll be doing:
- Leading procurement activities for a wide range of materials across multiple engineering categories
- Building and maintaining strong supplier partnerships, negotiating contracts and terms with new and existing suppliers to maximise value and performance
- Take responsibility for ensuring material is delivered OTIF
- Analysing market trends and identifying sourcing opportunities
- Collaborating with internal teams to support operational goals
What we’re looking for:
- Proven experience as a competent Buyer within an engineering environment is essential
- Strong negotiation and contract management skills
- Excellent analytical and decision-making abilities
- Confident communicator with a collaborative approach
- CIPS qualification (or working towards it) is desirable
