W Talent is recruiting on behalf of a leading manufacturing organisation that is opening a purpose-built facility in Derby as part of its ongoing strategic growth. To support this expansion, they are now looking to hire a Quality Technician to play a key role in establishing and maintaining high-quality standards within their newly formed team at the Derby site.

Job Information
Reporting to the Quality Assurance Manager, you will play a key role in supporting quality assurance processes across the Derby manufacturing operation. You will assist in root cause analysis, drive corrective and preventive actions, and work closely with production teams to uphold and enhance quality standards. The role also involves supporting both internal and external audits, ensuring compliance with industry regulations, and contributing to continuous improvement and lean initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain the QM module of SAP in line with business processes at the Derby site.
- Manage the calibration database and enter new equipment, calibrate frequencies and keep data updated post-external calibrations.
- Conduct regular testing of products and components in line with testing plans at the Derby facility.
- Process supplier rejects and collaborate with suppliers to drive improvements and preventive actions.
- Analyse data effectively and communicate with cross-functional teams across all levels at the Derby site.
Key Requirements
Applicants should be within commuting distance of Derby and have an HNC/HND or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering or a related Quality discipline. You will have hands-on quality assurance experience in a manufacturing environment, along with proficiency in measuring and inspection equipment and interpreting engineering drawings. Experience with quality tools like PFMEA, 8D, SPC, and ISO 9001 is highly beneficial, as well as proficiency in Microsoft Office.
Salary and Benefits Information
The role offers an attractive remuneration package with a salary range of £35,000 - £38,000, along with 25 days holiday plus bank holidays. You will also benefit from an annual performance bonus and a generous pension scheme, providing long-term financial security.
