W Talent are exclusively representing a manufacturing company based in Nottingham (Alfreton) who are looking to recruit a permanent Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer. This is an excellent opportunity to join a fast-paced manufacturing environment, supporting production through proactive maintenance and rapid response to equipment breakdowns while ensuring high engineering and safety standards are maintained at all times.
The successful Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer will be responsible for both reactive and preventative maintenance across a busy manufacturing facility. The role will involve electrical and mechanical fault finding, supporting continuous improvement initiatives, and ensuring all maintenance activities are completed safely and effectively in line with company procedures.
Key Responsibilities- Respond promptly to machinery breakdowns and complete repairs to minimise downtime
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance activities across site equipment
- Work in accordance with all health and safety procedures including LOTO and Dynamic Risk Assessments
- Manage and action Engineering Reports through the CMMS system
- Update all maintenance activities and completed work accurately within the CMMS system
- Communicate effectively with Planning Teams, Shift Managers, Engineering Supervisors, and the Engineering Manager regarding machine status and repair progress
- Ensure detailed shift reports are completed outlining all engineering activities undertaken
- Liaise with machine manufacturers and technical support teams when additional fault diagnosis support is required
- Ensure preventative maintenance schedules are completed within required daily, weekly, and monthly timeframes
- Maintain high housekeeping standards within the maintenance workshop and engineering stores areas
- Record and manage spare parts usage, ensuring stock is reordered when required
- Support continuous improvement activities to improve machine reliability and efficiency
- Engineering qualification
- Previous experience working within a manufacturing or industrial environment
- Electrical fault-finding experience
- Mechanical fault-finding experience
- Experience working with pneumatics and hydraulics
- Good understanding of preventative maintenance systems and processes
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
- Good understanding of health and safety procedures within manufacturing environments
- Previous experience using CMMS systems
- Experience working within FMCG or high-volume manufacturing environments
- Knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies
- 17th/18th Edition electrical qualification
- PLC fault-finding experience
- Salary: £40-50K
