This excellent manufacturer is now in the market for a Maintenance Manager to focus on day-to-day maintenance activities whilst driving a culture of more proactive than reactive behaviours.

Position Overview: W Talent Engineering and Manufacturing are seeking a highly skilled and apprentice trained Maintenance Manager to oversee all aspects of this state-of-the-art manufacturing facility based in Derbyshire. The Maintenance Manager will be responsible for developing and implementing maintenance procedures, managing a team of maintenance engineers, and ensuring the reliability and efficiency of all manufacturing equipment.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement maintenance policies and procedures to ensure the reliability and efficiency of manufacturing equipment.
  • Plan and schedule preventive maintenance activities to minimise downtime and optimise equipment performance.
  • Manage a team of maintenance engineers, providing leadership, guidance, and training as needed.
  • Challenge status quo and drive behavioural change within the maintenance team.
  • Coordinate with production and engineering teams to prioritise maintenance tasks and minimise disruptions to production schedules.
  • Conduct regular inspections of equipment and facilities to identify maintenance needs and address issues in a timely manner.
  • Oversee the procurement of spare parts and maintenance supplies, ensuring adequate inventory levels and cost-effective purchasing practices.
  • Monitor maintenance performance metrics and implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment reliability and reduce maintenance costs.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and promote a culture of safety among maintenance staff.
  • Develop and manage the maintenance budget, tracking expenses and identifying opportunities for cost savings.

Requirements:

  • HNC/HND, apprentice trained in an engineering discipline is required.
  • A bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline would be advantageous.
  • Multi-skilled engineering capability would be advantageous.
  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations and best practices.
  • Proven experience in maintenance management within a manufacturing environment.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills.
  • Proficiency in maintenance management software and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and prioritise tasks.
