W Talent is working in partnership with a global manufacturing organisation located in Heanor, Derbyshire to recruit a Production Scheduler on an 18-month secondment basis.
This is an excellent opportunity to join an established manufacturing business and become part of a motivated Planning, Inventory and Logistics team committed to operational excellence.
The Role - Production Planner
As Production Planer, you will be based at the Heanor manufacturing site where you will be responsible for managing daily production scheduling and activities across assembly lines and allocated manufacturing processes.
Working closely with Planning, Inventory, Logistics and wider operational teams, you will ensure production is effectively planned to meet customer demand and delivery requirements.
Your responsibilities will include managing production schedules, capacity planning and work centre utilisation, while ensuring accurate and timely information is maintained across SAP and production management systems.
Key responsibilities will include
- Managing daily production schedules and activities across assembly lines and allocated manufacturing processes.
- Ensuring production plans support on-time customer delivery and customer satisfaction.
- Managing and maintaining accurate production and planning data within SAP and associated systems.
- Supporting SAP management and operation, ensuring accurate data and efficient workflows.
- Managing work centre capacity to optimise production efficiency and resource utilisation.
- Communicating scheduling and production information clearly across relevant teams.
- Supporting new product introduction and release-to-production activities.
- Identifying, resolving and escalating production and scheduling issues where required.
- Supporting projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Working collaboratively with operational teams to resolve priority conflicts and maintain production performance.
- Key Requirements
We are looking for someone located in or around Derby or Nottingham with previous experience within production planning, manufacturing control, production scheduling, inventory management or a similar manufacturing environment with a strong understanding of production processes and be confident working with data, systems and multiple priorities.
- You will have good working knowledge of SAP MM, with experience of SAP PP and WM being highly desirable.
- Previous involvement in new product introduction and release-to-production processes would also be beneficial.
- You will be highly organised and analytical, with excellent numerical skills and a strong attention to detail.
- A proactive, process-driven approach is essential, alongside the ability to identify and resolve issues, manage competing priorities and influence stakeholders.
- A positive "can-do" attitude, strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a wider team are key to success in this role.
