The Opportunity

An established, private equity-backed group based in Cheshire is seeking a Group Accountant to join its growing finance function. This is a high-impact role offering broad exposure across group reporting, consolidation, audit, and stakeholder engagement within a fast-paced, evolving environment.

The position goes beyond traditional financial reporting, offering the chance to influence processes, support commercial decision-making, and partner with senior non-finance stakeholders across the business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ownership of the month-end close process across the group
  • Preparation of group consolidations and statutory reporting
  • Leading the external audit process, acting as the key point of contact
  • Ensuring strong financial controls and compliance across group entities
  • Driving process improvements to enhance reporting efficiency and accuracy
  • Acting as a trusted business partner to operational and senior leadership teams
  • Supporting ad-hoc projects aligned to business growth and transformation

About You

  • Qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA) with a strong financial accounting background
  • Trained in practice, ideally with some post-qualification experience in industry
  • Strong first-time movers from practice will also be considered
  • Exposure to, or a strong interest in, group consolidations and reporting
  • Confident communicator able to work effectively with non-finance stakeholders
  • Proactive mindset with the ability to improve processes, not just maintain them
