Our client is a specialist wealth advisory business serving entrepreneurs, owner-managed businesses and their families. It is part of a larger, well-established national wealth management group, which gives it the stability and resources of a major player while keeping the personal, client-first culture of a boutique. The firm is growing and is looking to add an experienced relationship manager who can build deep, long-term client relationships and become a trusted point of contact for founders and business owners. This is a relationship-led role. The successful candidate will be a natural relationship builder who understands how entrepreneurs think, what drives them, and how their business and personal finances intertwine.

What the role looks like:

  • Own and develop a portfolio of high-value client relationships, acting as the primary day-to-day contact
  • Build genuine, long-term relationships with owner-managed business owners, start-up founders and serial entrepreneurs
  • Understand each client’s personal and business objectives, and coordinate the right expertise across the firm to support them
  • Proactively identify client needs and opportunities, rather than waiting to be asked
  • Work closely with advisers, investment and planning specialists and wider internal teams to deliver an excellent client experience
  • Deliver a high standard of service, with clear communication and strong follow-through
  • Represent the firm with credibility and professionalism, including through referral networks and introducers where relevant
  • Contribute to the continued growth of the business through client advocacy, referrals and deepening existing relationships

What they’re looking for:

  • 7-10 years’ client servicing or relationship management experience, ideally within private banking or a similar high-touch environment
  • A background at a leading private bank or wealth manager (for example UBS, Coutts, Standard Chartered or JPMorgan), or at a relevant boutique firm
  • Experience working with owner-managed businesses, start-ups and serial entrepreneurs
  • Strong emotional intelligence and excellent communication skills
  • Sound judgement, and the confidence to advise and challenge where appropriate
  • A proven ability to build genuine, long-term client relationships built on trust
  • The right motivations: a relationship builder and long-term thinker who wants a career, not just a job
  • Formal qualifications are not essential. The right experience, personality and client approach matter more

Why it’s interesting:

This is an opportunity to join a respected wealth business with a clear focus on entrepreneurs, a client base that rewards genuine relationship-building, and the backing of a major group. You will work with clients who are building, scaling and selling businesses, which makes for varied, interesting and meaningful work. For someone who has built their career on relationships and wants to take real ownership of them in a firm that values long-term thinking, this is a compelling move.
