Category Manager – Builders Merchant (Fully Remote)
We're partnering with a well-established builders merchant to find an experienced Category Manager to join their commercial team.
This is a great opportunity for a category manager with a strong background in trade, DIY or building materials to take ownership of a key product category within a growing, well-regarded merchant business.
The role:
- Own category strategy, range planning and supplier negotiation for your product area
- Build and develop strong supplier relationships, driving commercial terms, cost improvements and NPD
- Use sales, market and competitor data to inform range, pricing and promotional decisions
- Work closely with buying, marketing and branch/operations teams to deliver category plans
- Take ownership of P&L performance for your category
What we're looking for:
- Proven category or buying experience, ideally within builders merchants, trade, DIY or construction materials
- Strong commercial and negotiation skills, with a track record of managing supplier relationships
- Confident using data and insight to drive decisions
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, target-driven environment
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
What's on offer:
- £60,000 base salary
