Senior Buyer – Food
We're partnering with a well-established food business to find an experienced Senior Buyer to join their commercial team, based in the West Midlands.
This is a great opportunity for a senior buyer with a strong food category background to take ownership of a key area of spend, with real scope to influence supplier and range strategy.
The role:
- Own category strategy, range planning and supplier negotiation across your food category area
- Build and develop strong supplier relationships, driving commercial terms, cost improvements and NPD
- Use sales, market and competitor data to inform range, pricing and promotional decisions
- Work closely with buying, marketing, quality and supply chain teams to deliver category plans
- Take ownership of P&L performance for your category
What we're looking for:
- Proven buying experience within food (retail, wholesale or foodservice backgrounds all considered)
- Strong commercial and negotiation skills, with a track record of managing supplier relationships
- Confident using data and insight to drive decisions
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, target-driven environment
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
