As part of its commitment to maintaining world-class manufacturing standards and supporting a highly automated production environment, the business is now seeking to appoint an Electrical Bias Maintenance Engineer to join its established engineering team.

Position Overview

W Talent are seeking a skilled and electrically biased Maintenance Engineer to join a well-established engineering team operating within a highly automated manufacturing environment. Working a three-shift rotating pattern, the Maintenance Engineer will be responsible for maintaining a wide range of production equipment, supporting both reactive and planned maintenance activities, and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives across site. This role would suit an engineer who enjoys hands-on fault finding, problem solving, and working within a fast-paced manufacturing environment where engineering is valued as a key function of the business.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out planned preventative maintenance activities in line with the site's maintenance strategy
  • Respond to equipment breakdowns and perform effective fault finding to minimise production downtime
  • Diagnose and repair electrical and mechanical faults across a variety of manufacturing equipment
  • Support the ongoing reliability and performance of automated production machinery
  • Accurately complete maintenance records and documentation for compliance and audit purposes
  • Ensure all maintenance activities are completed in accordance with health, safety and environmental standards
  • Work collaboratively with Production, Engineering and Operational teams to maximise plant performance
  • Participate in continuous improvement projects aimed at improving equipment reliability and reducing downtime
  • Assist with root cause analysis and implementation of corrective actions to prevent recurring issues
  • Contribute towards driving a proactive maintenance culture across the engineering function

Requirements

  • Engineering qualification
  • Proven experience within a manufacturing, production, or industrial environment
  • Strong fault-finding and diagnostic capabilities
  • Experience carrying out planned preventative maintenance and reactive maintenance activities
  • Ability to work effectively within a fast-paced operational environment
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills
  • Positive, proactive approach with a willingness to learn and develop new skills

Advantageous

  • Exposure to PLC-controlled equipment
  • Knowledge of preventative maintenance systems and methodologies
  • Experience using CMMS or maintenance reporting systems
