A rare opportunity to join our prestigious family run funeral directors as a valued member of our team on a casual basis. This role is ideal for someone who wants to make a difference in their local community.
The Role
We are seeking a professional, well presented individual to join our highly regarded team as a Driver/Bearer/On call team member. We require someone to assist during funeral services, drive ceremonial vehicles and be a part of our out of hours on call team. On call rota is 1 week in every 3. This runs from Monday 4:30pm - the following Monday 8:30am. During on call periods you will be expected to respond promptly and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
- Assisting the funeral director at funeral services - bearing coffins and supporting mourners
- Driving ceremonial vehicles
- Collecting the deceased from place of death into our care
- Responding to client needs and providing support services
- Maintaining and cleaning of company vehicles when required
- Representing W.S Ingham & Son Ltd Funeral Service with professionalism and empathy
- Assisting and dealing with the relevant documentation required
About you
We are looking for someone who:
- Is over the age of 25
- Demonstrates compassion, empathy and professionalism
- Has a Full UK Driving License (essential)
- Has the physical ability to perform heavy lifting tasks (including lifting and carrying)
- Is a confident driver
- Is comfortable with tasks that involve direct contact with the deceased
- Can work well within a team
- Has a smart appearance
- Has a strong eye for attention to detail
- Is reliable, punctual and is willing to work flexible hours, including weekends, evenings and at short-notice
- Is able to follow instruction with ease
