Berkley Aspire is an excess & surplus lines insurer of commercial risks unable to find a home in the standard markets. We are an operating unit of WR Berkley, a publicly traded global insurer founded in 1967. Our company culture is entrepreneurial, employee centric, and focused on sustainable growth. Aspire teammates work either remotely or on a hybrid schedule from offices in Scottsdale, Cincinnati, and Richmond.

We are looking to add an inspired content creator and storyteller to our insurance marketing & communications team. You will be a listener, researcher, and natural collaborator. Your skill set will be overweighted to digital marketing, but may also include copy writing/editing, graphic design, video production, public relations, photography, or podcasting. Experience creating content for corporate websites or social media sites is a bonus.

Responsibilities:

  • Create dynamic content to be distributed across multiple channels and platforms.
  • Collaborate with business owners and subject matter experts to identify target audiences and messages that resonate.
  • Track results.
  • Work with other members of the creative team.
  • Be mindful of deadlines and budgets.
  • Be brand conscious and disciplined.
  • Recommend new and different ways to tell our story.
  • Partner with underwriters/creative teams across the enterprise.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in journalism, marketing or communications preferred but not required.
  • 2-5 years experience working with a content team – whether an agency, content studio, or corporate setting.
  • Hands-on experience utilizing creative tools (Adobe Creative Cloud, Canva, etc.) and creating different types of content for corresponding platforms.
  • Art direction and graphic design experience.
  • Skilled in writing, storytelling, image selection/editing, maintaining websites, generating engaging content for social media sites, podcasting.
  • Insurance industry knowledge gained through formal study, earned designations, and/or work experience.
  • Looking for intellectually curious individuals who think creatively and connect dots.
  • Ability to present and communicate ideas to team and accept feedback willingly.
  • Willing and effective collaborator – team player.
  • Experience using Adobe Creative Cloud, Microsoft suite, Canva, email marketing clients (Mailchimp).
  • Receptivity to new ideas and willingness to pivot.
  • Ability to make us laugh, gasp, hit replay, and ask, ‘How’d you think of that?”

The actual salary for this position will be determined by a number of factors, including the scope, complexity and location of the role; the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate; and other conditions of employment. This role will be eligible to participate in the annual discretionary bonus program.
