We are looking for a Manufacturing Cost Accountant to join our team at our Dundee, Scotland location. In this role, you will partner with Plant & Operational Leadership, providing accurate cost analysis, financial insights, and data-driven recommendations. This associate will evaluate production performance, analyze variances, and ensure the integrity of inventory and cost-of-goods-sold reporting. The MCA helps optimize manufacturing efficiency by identifying cost trends, supporting continuous improvement initiatives, and strengthening financial controls. Success in this role requires strong analytical skills, a collaborative mindset, and the ability to translate complex financial data into clear operational guidance.
Responsibilities
- Partnering with manufacturing, supply chain, plant, and financial leadership to provide reporting, analysis, and guidance on COGS and inventory.
- Analyzing manufacturing cost variances and partnering with supply chain and manufacturing teams to determine root causes and establish remediation plans.
- Preparing and presenting monthly plant operating metrics and variance commentary.
- Leading plant’s month end close processes and post close account reconciliations.
- Participating in the year-end and interim financial audit as well as leading and preparing the plant’s forecast/budget.
- Generating standard costs for new products and supporting the annual global re-roll of standard costs.
- Identifying cost reduction opportunities and supporting the analysis and tracking/reporting of cost-down initiatives.
- Preparing, analyzing, and maintaining various plant allocations and accounting reserves.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelors’ degree in Accounting or Finance, with 3 years of manufacturing based cost accounting experience.
- Strong working knowledge of US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (US GAAP).
- Proficiency with MS Excel and familiarity with Power BI.
- Strong analytical skills and ability to think creatively to solve complex problems.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Ability to work successfully in a team-oriented global environment while being flexible around changing processes and priorities in a fast-paced multi-task environment.
- Strong sense of urgency, excellent organizational skills and attention to details.
- Must be physically present in Dundee at least 3 days per week.

- Prior experience working with SAP S4H.
- Prior work experience in a manufacturing environment and global supply chain.
