Overview
We are looking for a Customer Quality Engineer (f/m/d) with customer-facing experience to join our growing and dynamic team working with customers from the aerospace and defence industries. In this role, you will ensure close partnership with customers by identifying risks during contract review, initiating cross-functional cooperation for product planning, completing root cause analysis as required and identifying risks and closing gaps in order to meet Customer Requirements.
This position will be located at our Gore Dundee facility in Scotland, with the possibility of a hybrid work arrangement, depending upon the responsibilities of the role and business needs.
Responsibilities
- Manage Contract Review to ensure alignment/agreement with Strategic and certain Key Customers
- Ensure process discipline in engineering projects through customer collaboration
- Ensure Requirements are understood and managed by internal functions
- Escalate common industry gaps within the Quality team
- Lead / Support Customer Visits / Audits
- Execute Customer Purchase Order Requirement Review
- Respond to Questionnaires/Surveys, supporting process development and standard responses
- Manage Customer Concern and corrective action communication
- Facilitate Customer Notification and Change Management activities
- Represent Gore’s Brand Promise broadly (while keeping the customer\'s perspective central) to enable an exceptional Customer Experience
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Science or a comparable technical degree
- A minimum of 5 years working experience, preferred in a quality engineering role in the aerospace industry
- Demonstrated experience to interact effectively and influence all functions of an organization
- Excellent communication skills externally
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and requests while meeting the stakeholder needs
- Ability to interpret Customer and Industry Requirements
- Appreciation for cultural differences with a demonstrated ability to work effectively across multiple cultures, languages, and countries
Desired Qualifications
- Good working knowledge of aerospace quality standards (AS9100 and AS9145)
- Initial experience using quality tools, especially APQP (Advanced Product Quality Planning) practices
- Ability to present a clear argument based on facts to leadership in order to influence a decision
This position requires access to information or items that are export controlled under U.S. law. Any offer will be conditioned upon Gore obtaining export control authorization for the candidate under the U.S. ITAR or EAR, as required by the position.
