About W Lounge
W Lounge is W Edinburgh’s social hub for guests and locals alike. Open from 11am until late, W Lounge will showcase the best of Gaelic produce in its food offering, complemented with innovative beverage concepts. Whether guests are coming for a cup of coffee, a lunch meeting, a casual dinner or cocktails, W Lounge will be the perfect place to be. Situated on the 11th floor, the space offers unrivalled panoramic view across the city, making it one of the most beautiful places in Edinburgh to work and play.
About The Role
Reporting to the W Lounge Manager for W Edinburgh, as Commis Waiter/Waitress you will be the key link between the Kitchen and our guests on the floor, ensuring they receive their meals in a timely fashion and answering any questions they may have on the dishes. Joining the team means you will be instrumental to the success of the hotel’s opening and beyond. We are looking for someone who is motivated, has an eye for detail, and would love to develop their hospitality skills!
- Serve food courses and alcoholic beverages to guests
- Set tables to service standards
- Answer any questions on the menu selection
- Communicate with the kitchen regarding questions, length of wait, product availability, meal requirements, allergies, dietary needs and special requests
- Check in with guests to ensure satisfaction with the food courses and beverages
- Maintain cleanliness of work areas, china, glass and silver throughout the day
- Restock items
- Follow health and safety guidelines and policies to report accidents and injuries
- Work as a team with the rest of the W Lounge team, supporting wherever necessary as directed by your manager
