W Edinburgh is hiring a Sales Manager focusing on the MICE (Meeting, Incentive, Conference and Exhibitions) segment. Reporting to the Director of Sales, the MICE Sales Manager at W Edinburgh is an integral member of the sales team, responsible for overseeing group and catering related opportunities. We are looking for someone who is organized, detail-oriented and enjoys building long-lasting relationships with clients. Key aspects of your role will include:

  • Work with the Director of Sales and team to ensure understanding of sales strategy and the effective implementation of this strategy for the segments you are responsible for.
  • Provide positive leadership to ensure maximum revenue potential.
  • Work collaboratively with off-property sales channels to ensure sales efforts are coordinated, complementary and not duplicative.
  • Build and strengthen relationships with existing and new customers to enable future bookings. Activities include sales calls, site inspections, entertainment, FAM trips, trade shows, etc.
  • Develop relationships within the community to strengthen and expand customer base for sales opportunities.
  • Manage and develop relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.
  • Provide accurate, complete and effective turnover to Event Management.
  • Execute and support the operational aspects of business booked (e.g., generating proposal, writing contract, customer correspondence).
  • Analyse market information by using sales systems and implement strategy to achieve the property’s financial room and catering goals.
  • Support the company’s service and relationship strategy, driving customer loyalty by delivering service excellence throughout each customer experience.
  • Gain understanding of the location’s primary target customer and service expectations; serves the customer by understanding their business, business issues and concerns, to offer better business solutions.
  • Execute and support the company’s customer service standards and property’s brand standards.
  • Understand the overall market - competitors’ strengths and weaknesses, economic trends, supply and demand etc. and knows how to sell against them.
  • Set a positive example for guest relations.
  • Interact with guests to obtain feedback on product quality and service levels.
  • Execute exemplary customer service to drive customer satisfaction and loyalty by assisting the customer and ensuring their satisfaction before and during their program/event.
  • Empower your team to resolve guest issues independently and with confidence.
  • Work in collaboration with all heads of departments to ensure a successful hotel operation.
  • Be a W brand ambassador, ensuring the brand’s voice is present in your interactions with guests and talent.
