Reporting to the Director of Engineering, this role leads all engineering and maintenance operations across the hotel—responsible for the building and physical plant, with an uncompromising focus on safety, security, compliance, and asset protection.
Managing Engineering Operations & Budgets- Oversees the hotel’s physical plant, including mechanical systems, refrigeration, HVAC, plumbing, water treatment, and electrical systems.
- Ensures full compliance with all regulatory, building and safety standards.
- Manages utilities (heat, light, power), identifying opportunities for energy conservation and operational efficiency.
- Develops specifications for service contracts and manages vendor relationships.
- Assigns preventative maintenance and repair work orders, ensuring timely and high‑quality completion.
- Oversees maintenance of guestrooms, public areas, back‑of‑house spaces, F&B venues, hotel vehicles, and recreational facilities.
- Creates and delivers long‑term preventative maintenance and asset protection plans.
- Leads renovation and construction projects, from planning to on‑time, on‑budget completion.
- Manages tender processes, contractor performance, and compliance with project guidelines.
- Builds and maintains strong relationships with local authorities (building/zoning, fire bureau, contractors, and vendors).
- Ensures the fire team understands all emergency procedures, equipment, and alarm systems.
- Performs monthly property inspections and regular room/public space checks to ensure premium standards.
- Evaluates the physical condition of facilities to determine required maintenance or upgrades.
- Recommends and coordinates additional services including painting, repairs, renovations, and replacement of furnishings/equipment.
- Manages procurement of equipment, supplies, and furnishings.
- Controls parts and inventory management.
- Ensures all building licenses, inspections, and certifications are up to date.
- Oversees the maintenance and functionality of all life safety systems, including firefighting equipment, sprinklers, and alarm systems.
- Demonstrates leadership in guest hospitality, fostering a positive and elevated guest experience.
- Reviews guest feedback, satisfaction scores, and operational data to identify areas for improvement.
- Partners with hotel leadership to implement action plans that elevate guest satisfaction.
