The Malcolm Group is one of the UK’s leading providers of logistics, construction, and maintenance services. With a proud heritage dating back to the 1920s, we’ve built our reputation on reliability, innovation, and long-term partnerships. Headquartered in Linwood, Scotland, we operate across the UK, delivering integrated solutions that keep businesses moving. Our commitment to excellence, customer service, and sustainability continues to drive our success and growth across all divisions.

Are you an impactful insurance professional ready to take the next step in your career? We’re seeking a Group Insurance Manager to lead and manage all aspects of our Group’s insurance function. This is a leadership role with responsibility for managing a small team, handling claims management, the annual renewal process, and captive arrangements — ensuring optimal coverage, compliance, and cost-efficiency across the board.

In this truly hands-on role, you’ll be responsible for leading our small Insurance team and overseeing the full lifecycle of claims across all insurance lines (motor, property, freight, liability, etc.). You will ensure full compliance with regulatory standards such as FCA, PRA, ICOBS, and the Insurance Act 2015, while leading the annual insurance renewal process in collaboration with executive stakeholders. It involves working closely with IT and insurance partners to optimise Cyber insurance coverage, developing and executing claims strategies to enhance performance and reduce loss ratios, and maintaining effective communication with key external and internal stakeholders.

This role will also:

Oversee captive insurance arrangements

Monitor and report on key claims metrics

Manage high-value or complex claims

Lead the development of insurance systems and reporting capabilities

We are looking for someone with significant experience in insurance claims and leadership and management. This person should have strong technical knowledge of insurance claims processes and principles and excellent negotiation, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.

Full details of the role are available in the job specification document which can be obtained by contacting our recruitment team.
