We are working with a leading European institutional broker seeking an experienced Senior Salesperson to join our High Yield and Distressed Credit desk. The role focuses on originating and executing European High Yield and Distressed credit flow, primarily with hedge funds and specialised distressed/special situations funds.

The Opportunity

This is a high-impact role for a proactive professional who can leverage strong technical credit skills and genuine client relationships to generate significant new business. You will benefit from deep European research coverage, strong corporate access, and a solid existing continental real-money client base that most London-based competitors have not penetrated effectively.

Key Responsibilities

  • Originate and execute High Yield and Distressed credit trades (bonds and related instruments) across UK/Europe, with a primary focus on UK and global hedge funds and specialised credit funds.
  • Provide high-quality technical bond analysis, capital structure insights, and trade ideas, explaining complex situations clearly to portfolio managers and decision-makers.
  • Build and grow a dedicated institutional client book through proactive relationship development and new business generation (not just servicing existing platform flow).
  • Collaborate with in-house research and corporate access teams to deliver tailored ideas and early access opportunities.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years relevant experience in High Yield / Distressed / Special Situations credit sales in UK/Europe.
  • Strong technical skills in bond analysis, covenants, capital structures, and recovery analysis.
  • Proven track record of generating business and building real client relationships with hedge funds.
  • Excellent communication skills – able to explain complex credit situations convincingly to fund managers.
