ABOUT THE ROLE

Reporting to the Director of Finance, the IT Manager at W Edinburgh has overall responsibility for all technology planning, decision-making, implementation, and maintenance. We are looking for someone who is organized, detail-oriented and understands the impact they have on the hotel operation.

As IT Manager, key aspects of your role include (but are not limited to):

  • Ensure every department's technology needs are met
  • Monitor, verify and manage the acquisition and maintenance of property-based systems.
  • Maintain, inspect and repair equipment.
  • Manage IT activities to ensure the property infrastructure and applications systems are functional at all times.
  • Consult on specific application issues or hardware/software problems, provide technical expertise and support.
  • Train and create communication for property users to introduce new applications, provide user tips, alert users of system problems and inform staff of progress or status.
  • Enforce IT policies and standards protecting company hardware, software and other resources at the property.
  • Direct the maintenance of equipment and installed software applications inventory for property ensuring compliance with licensing regulations.
  • Keep up-to-date technically and apply new knowledge to your job.
  • Provide a technical perspective to information needs along with cost/benefits understanding in an influencing role.
  • Understand how your role impacts the hotel operation, guest and employee satisfaction.
  • Work in collaboration with all heads of departments to ensure a successful hotel operation.
