About the role We are seeking a proactive and results-driven Sales Representative – Liner Shipping (Short Sea and Deep Sea) to join our commercial team, focusing on the Southern UK market. The successful candidate will be instrumental in driving new business growth and nurturing strong, long-term relationships with a portfolio of key clients in the region. This is an exciting opportunity for a self-motivated individual with a passion for the maritime industry. You will be working from the South of England (Hybrid/Field-based, with regular office presence in Felixstowe, UK).
Key tasks and responsibilities:
- Actively generate new business by identifying and targeting organisations that require short and deep container solutions.
- Actively increase our share of business from existing clients.
- Develop and implement strategic sales plans to expand our market share across the South of the UK.
- Build and maintain robust relationships with new and existing customers, acting as a trusted advisor for their logistics needs.
- Work with our internal sales team to prepare and deliver accurate, timely quotations and proposals to clients.
- Monitor market trends and competitor activity to identify new opportunities.
- Collaborate with internal operations, customer service, and other departments to ensure a seamless and efficient customer experience.
- Regularly update and manage system with all sales activities, pipeline forecasts, and customer records.
- Represent the company at trade events and industry functions to network and promote our services.
What you bring:
- Proven sales experience within the logistics, freight forwarding, or liner shipping industry is highly desirable.
- A proven track record of securing new business and developing existing client relationships.
- Strong knowledge of the UK import/export market and cargo shipping routes is a significant advantage.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- A proactive, self-motivated, and target-driven individual with a resilient “hunter” mentality.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative team.
- Strong organisational skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
