As a Project Manager at WDM Ltd, you will lead the planning, coordination, and successful delivery of projects that support our mission to improve road safety, asset condition analysis, and infrastructure decision‑making. You will work closely with internal teams, clients, and technical specialists to ensure each project is delivered on time, within scope, and to the highest quality standards including ISO 9001 / 27001 and 45001. This role requires strong organisational capability, excellent communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple concurrent projects in a fast‑moving technical environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Scope projects: Get involved in client discussions at an early stage to assess scope of the proposed project, large or small. Agree feasibility of the proposal and create documentation (e.g. workflow diagrams) to assist with the framing of the project scope. Provide suggested proven solutions based on experience of previous projects, where appropriate.
- Specify requirements: Create high level project requirements, in particular considering development requirements (e.g. system interfaces), or where enhancements may be required to existing software tools.
- Design project plans: Once scope and specification have been agreed, work with the client, admin and developers as required to agree a feasible timeline for delivery. Produce project plan to outline project deliverables.
- Administration: Produce and maintain project documentation such as workflow diagrams, security/permissions documentation, data input combinations (e.g. DTC), email contents and triggers etc. Produce Change Control documentation and ensure full end to end administration of the change control process.
- Client & Stakeholder Management: Act as the primary point of contact for clients throughout the project lifecycle. Facilitate progress meetings, produce clear updates, and communicate risks or changes promptly. Build strong relationships that support repeat business and long‑term partnerships.
- Risk, Quality & Compliance: Identify and proactively manage project risks and issues. Ensure all work meets WDM’s quality standards, technical protocols, and industry best practice. Support compliance with health & safety requirements and relevant standards. Participate in post‑project reviews to identify improvements in process, communication, or delivery. Help refine project management frameworks and operational workflows across WDM.
Skills & Experience
- Demonstrated experience managing technical, operational, or data‑driven projects.
- Ability to coordinate multidisciplinary teams and balance competing priorities.
- Strong communication, reporting, and stakeholder‑management skills.
- Solid understanding of project governance, scheduling, and risk management principles.
- Experience in highways, surveying, engineering, or geospatial data.
- Familiarity with asset management systems or data‑rich technical projects.
- Project management certification (e.g., PRINCE2, APM, PMP).
