We are looking for a skilled Fabricator/Welder with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience to work on various projects, including fabrication, welding, and assembly of metal components. The successful candidate will have excellent technical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Primary duties/skills:
- Fabricate and weld metal components and structures according to specifications and drawings.
- Read and interpret Engineering drawings, diagrams, and specifications to ensure accurate fabrication and welding.
- Operate various fabrication and welding equipment, including welding machines, cutting torches, vertical drilling, bending machines and grinders.
- Assemble and install fabricated components and structures.
- Perform quality control checks to ensure fabricated components meet specifications and standards.
- Collaborate with other team members to ensure efficient project completion.
- MIG & TIG welding.
- Materials used include aluminium, stainless steel and mild steel.
- Comply with Health and Safety requirements, i.e. have knowledge of safe working practices and procedures.
- Report to the workshop supervisor.
- Work to instructions with a minimum of supervision, taking personal responsibility for the quality and accuracy of your work.
- Undertake other duties as may be reasonably expected from time to time.
Qualifications:
- City & Guilds or NVQ in Fabrication and Welding level 2 or equivalent.
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations and procedures.
Requirements:
- 2 years of experience in fabrication and welding.
- Proven track record of producing high-quality fabricated and welded components.
- Strong knowledge of fabrication and welding techniques, including MIG, TIG, and ARC welding.
- Ability to read and interpret Engineering drawings, diagrams, and specifications.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
- Physical stamina to work in a workshop environment.
Preferable but non-essential:
- Vehicle body building experience.
Additional Info:
- 37.5 hours per week.
- Salary dependent upon relevant experience.
- 25 days holiday plus recognised public holidays.
