Our client is a market leader in Events Shipping and has an exciting opportunity for a Freight Operations Agent with experience in export or import freight forwarding. This role is suitable for someone with general freight forwarding operations experience, particularly those interested in music and live events, looking to enter the dynamic world of live event logistics.
Main purpose of the Freight Operations Agent - Events
Responsible for coordinating the movement of goods and materials, ensuring efficient and safe transportation from origin to destination. Key duties include:
- Overseeing shipping logistics
- Scheduling shipments
- Liaising with carriers and suppliers
- Tracking shipments
- Resolving transit issues
- Managing documentation such as bills of lading and customs paperwork
- Optimizing routes to reduce costs and improve efficiency
The role plays a crucial part in maintaining supply chain flow and ensuring timely, intact deliveries.
Main duties for the Freight Operations Agent - Events
- Handling all modes of transport: air import/export, ocean import/export, road import/export
- Clearing customs, primarily carnets, as well as permanent and temporary imports/exports, with knowledge of ASM Customs system preferred
- Knowledge of CDS
- Ability to cut export AWBs
- Providing quotes to customers
- Delivering high customer service levels, following up on post-flights and PODs
- Inputting cost accruals and invoicing jobs to clients
- Weekend and out-of-hours work as required, with pay
- Full, clean driving license required
- Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word
- Some physical work involved
Employment Terms
Monday to Friday, 9:00-17:30 (office-based). Salary: £30,000 - £40,000 DOE. Pension & Healthcare (post-probation). 25 days holiday plus bank holidays. One weekend cover in six (paid). Overtime paid when required.
