Our client has an exciting new position available for a Customs & Freight Test Analyst with a strong background in customs declarations and/or freight forwarding to join the Quality Assurance team. This is a unique opportunity for someone with industry-specific knowledge who is looking to transition into or grow within the field of software quality assurance. The ideal candidate will be an enthusiastic, self-starting problem solver with the ability to learn new technologies quickly. Excellent communication skills and approachability are essential. Company Overview Our client is a leading provider of customs clearance software and services in the UK. They help freight forwarders, customs agents, and logistics companies streamline import and export processes by ensuring smooth integration with HMRC systems and facilitating efficient, compliant trade operations. The product being developed is a mature client/server application, deployed since 2011, with a new web-based front-end under development. This is an exciting time to join, working with cutting-edge technologies on both projects. The company is expanding its QA team to continue building high-quality software. Working hours: Mon-Fri, 9-5.30 with flexible 7.5-hour days. Hybrid working: WFH on Mondays and Fridays. Required Experience The candidate should have: In-depth knowledge of UK customs declarations and/or freight forwarding. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. A great personality; ability to work closely with the team, learn, and share knowledge. Keen eye for detail and good problem analysis skills. Enthusiasm and willingness to accept new challenges. Nice to Have Candidates with the following will have an advantage: Previous experience in QA or testing roles. Familiarity with Agile methodologies or Scrum. Knowledge of Windows applications and Microsoft Office. ISTQB/ISEB Certification or equivalent. Experience with Azure DevOps. Experience with test environments, VMs, SQL, API testing tools.
