Staff have respect and loyalty, are passionate about all we do, and proud of what we achieve.Job DescriptionHours: Monday to Friday, varied shift pattern between the hours of 6am and 11pm + participation in the on call rotaOverall purpose of the job:Responsible for providing customer support to our large and diverse client base ensuring Service Levels are maintained and the ticketing system is fully up to date.Key responsibilities for this job:Installation of server, network and storage hardware with associated cabling/patchingPerform cabling/patching duties of both copper and fibre for a variety of different client requirementsDecommission hardware and prepare for shipping whilst coordinating with third party couriersPerform various remote hands duties within the Data Centers which include power cycling equipment, replacing failed hardware components, re-seating network cards and testing cablingPerform regular checks for network activity, firewall status and display errors through LED alerts or system monitoring toolsPerform audit work for clients cabling and hardware and produce supporting documentationWork closely with both internal and external client teams to assist in diagnosis and resolution of incidents across a range of technologiesAct as an access host for visitors of our clients to their Data Centre\’sMaintain a professional and disciplined approach at all times when working within client Data Centre\’sUphold adherence to ISO 9001, ISO 27001, ISO 20000 & ITIL standards and best practicesManage and process Access, Remote hands and delivery tickets for co-location clients and internal worksShow competency with local policies and procedures of our third-party Data Centre providersEnsure Data Centre\’s are in a clean and presentable manor at all timesGain understanding of basic support functions within the Data Centre with a view to progress into other roles within the Data Centre and the wider businessParticipate in 24x7x365 on call Rota to provide support for client access at Data Centre\’s, Client Migrations, Smart Hands Requests, Installation works for Managed Hosted clients, Scheduled maintenances/upgrades for Managed Hosting and Infrastructure upgrades, Circuit Down/Faults and any other works deemed Out Of Hours Internally or by our ClientsSkills and experience required:You must be able to pass security checks for this job, including SC and BPSS clearanceFull UK Driving License and your own personal car is essential for this positionPrevious experience in a similar role would be advantageous but not essentialAbility to take ownership of issues and following through to resolutionWillingness to learn with friendly, professional and flexible attitudeExcellent written and verbal communication skillsAbility to work well under pressure whilst maintaining attention to detailWell organized and self-motivated with the ability to work alone and as part of teamWillingness to learn with a friendly, professional and flexible attitudeOur PeopleOur people are what makes Exponential-e Group the company it is today.
