Role Overview
Work within our award-winning Fraud team at Hastings Direct and ensure we are looking to achieve our goal of all fraud off the table motto. You\’ll be working within a team to ensure we\’re protecting innocent customers from fraud by investigating concerns and ensuring we can stay competitive in the market as a result. You will be reviewing first party claims with a view of validating genuine claims and detecting any fraud/indemnity concerns which may lead us to decline the claim.
Job details – you\’ll need to have demonstrable experience in:
- Screening all First Party high risk claims such as theft/fire/single impact/malicious damage along with all referrals from claims teams
- Screening incoming theft and arson claims against known fraud indicators and other risk factors, identifying cases where investigation is required
- Telephone interviewing of claimants, utilising specialist cognitive interviewing and conversation management techniques to further determine risk and separate honesty from inconsistency
- Providing focused instructions to, and subsequently liaising with, specialist investigative suppliers including field investigators, engineers and forensic specialists
- Managing claims caseload in line with our philosophy and service levels, maintaining good file discipline and accurate reserves, together with an effective diary system which ensures that cases are reviewed on a regular basis
- Utilising a variety of desktop tools as well as various internet checks and databases to assist with claimant profiling and to determine the direction of the investigation
Essential Skills/experience
- Claims handling experience (motor claims) with an understanding of fraud
- Strong attention to detail – able to identify inconsistencies between various documents/evidence
- Excellent problem-solving capability combined with effective communication skills
