We are looking for a Conveyancing Assistant to join our friendly and supportive residential conveyancing team, splitting your time between the Watford and London office. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys variety, working with different clients, and being involved in the full life cycle of property transactions.
This role offers a broad scope of work—you won’t be pigeon-holed doing the same task day in, day out. You’ll gain hands-on experience across a wide range of conveyancing matters, working with a collaborative team happy to share knowledge. This opportunity is designed for people who want to build experience and develop their career within residential conveyancing.
As a Conveyancing Assistant, you’ll work closely with qualified lawyers to help deliver a smooth, efficient service to clients. You’ll be involved in residential conveyancing transactions from start to finish, supporting on everything from opening files and preparing contracts to completions and post-completion work. You’ll help submit searches, prepare Stamp Duty Land Tax returns, draft transfer deeds, liaise with clients, estate agents and mortgage lenders, and assist with registrations and file closures. You’ll also support fee earners with correspondence, reports, applications and general case administration.
You’ll ideally have some previous legal or office experience, with a genuine interest in residential conveyancing. You’ll be organised, approachable and comfortable managing multiple tasks and deadlines, with a strong focus on client care. You’ll enjoy working as part of a team, communicating clearly with colleagues and clients, and getting involved in a range of work. You’ll be confident using Microsoft Office (particularly Excel), comfortable learning new systems, and have good typing and administration skills. Experience using a case management system would be helpful, but not essential.
This role is best suited to someone who wants to build long-term experience in residential conveyancing. If your goal is a training contract, we’d encourage you to keep an eye out for our Paralegal vacancies, which are designed to support that pathway.
At VWV we have a truly unique and engaging culture that we hold dear. We work hard but we also love to have fun and we recognise that it’s the social interaction between us that really shapes our culture. Whilst we work to a hybrid model, for this role we would like you to work from our Watford office for 2 days per week, and our London office for 2 days per week, with the option of 1 day from home.
There are many reasons to explore VWV further. We’re known for our friendly and welcoming culture where teamwork and collaboration are key. There’s no pigeon-holing or glass ceilings here, just a professional yet relaxed culture where you can finally be yourself.
