Collections Cashier

At VWV, our Finance team helps keep the firm running smoothly behind the scenes. From processing payments to supporting our legal teams, accuracy, teamwork and a helpful approach are all important to what we do.

We're looking for a Collections Cashier to join our friendly Finance team in Bristol. If you enjoy working with numbers, have a good eye for detail and like keeping things organised, this could be a great opportunity to develop your skills and build your career in Finance.

Is This Your Next Career Move?

You’ll play an important part in making sure client receipts and payments are processed accurately and on time, helping keep our financial records up to date and supporting colleagues across the firm.

You’ll work closely with the wider Finance team and our legal colleagues, so being approachable, organised and happy to help others will go a long way.

Day to day, you’ll:

• Allocate payments received into the firm's bank accounts against outstanding invoices.
• Process daily cost transfers and allocate receipts received through LEGL.
• Raise credit notes on behalf of our legal teams.
• Monitor the delivery of bills to clients and follow up with legal teams where needed.
• Keep financial records accurate and up to date, ensuring transactions follow our internal procedures and the relevant Solicitors' Accounts Rules.
• Provide general finance support and help colleagues with any queries.

No two days need to be exactly the same, so you’ll need to be comfortable managing a varied workload, working to deadlines and taking care to get the details right.

Who Are We Hoping Will Apply?

You might already have experience working in an accounts or finance team, ideally in a professional services environment. But if you’re starting out and have a strong educational background, good numerical skills and a genuine interest in Finance, we'd be just as happy to hear from you.

We're looking for someone who has:

• Good numerical skills and a keen eye for detail.
• Confident IT skills and the ability to learn new systems.
• Good organisational skills and the ability to manage priorities and meet deadlines.
• Clear communication skills and a friendly, professional telephone manner.

A positive, proactive approach, with the confidence to use your initiative and the ability to work well with others.

You don't need to know everything from day one. We're looking for someone who's willing to learn, happy to ask questions and takes pride in doing a job well.

Where You'll Be Working

This role is based in our Bristol office. During your initial training period, you'll need to spend time in the office to get to know the team, learn our systems and settle into the role.

Once your training is complete, we expect you to work from the office at least one day a week, with the flexibility to work remotely on other days.
