Responsibilities

  • Under close supervision, the Warehouse Material Handler expedites the movement of parts and material between production areas, prepares and coordinates schedules for pulling and delivering materials, and operates equipment safely to regulate the flow of goods on the production floor.
  • Inbound: Unload trucks, trailers, and container freight; count products; compare to manifests to check for damage, infestation, or production code dates; report shortages, damages, and mis‑shipments; sign for inbound shipments; move items safely to storage locations and stack merchandise efficiently.
  • Order Picking: Ensure the correct product number, quantity, lot, batch, and serial number are picked; transport orders to shipping locations or delivery platforms using material handling equipment such as forklifts, cherry pickers, or pallet jacks; label, stencil, tag, mark orders, band, bundle, wrap, over‑pack, and palletize as required.
  • Outbound: Verify quantity, labeling, and address against orders; assign signatures when necessary; efficiently load product, cartons, and pallets into trailers, rail cars, or containers.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Keep equipment neat, clean, and orderly; operate equipment safely and efficiently; charge forklift batteries; run shrink‑wrap machines; maintain company standards and OSHA requirements.
  • Inventory: Keep accurate records and reports; assist with physical inventories and cycle counts; ensure proper stock rotation; key inventory adjustments in the computer system.
  • Other Duties: Repack or re‑box cases per customer instructions; repair and consolidate damaged goods; clean railcars, trailers, truck docks, and bays; perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED preferred.
  • OSHA Forklift and HAZMAT certification a plus.
  • Physical ability to lift up to 75 pounds using proper techniques.
  • Ability to follow safety‑focused instructions, handle stress, shift priorities, and use hands and feet simultaneously for repetitive movements.
  • Responsible work habits and familiarity with warehouse systems.
  • Availability to work any shift. Reasonable accommodations available for individuals with disabilities.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Physical: Ability to lift up to 75 pounds and use proper lifting techniques.
  • Language: Read, analyze, and interpret SOPs, coverage documents, and regulations; write reports and business correspondence; establish rapport, present information, respond to questions from managers, clients, customers, and the public; meet people and listen.
  • Mathematical: Add and subtract two‑digit numbers; multiply and divide with tens and hundreds; use U.S. currency and weight, volume, and distance measurements; knowledge of metric system measurements beneficial.
  • Reasoning: Apply common sense to carry out detailed written or oral instructions; solve problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Computer & Office: Type; operate a computer; organize and prioritize work; meet deadlines; use Microsoft Office tools and company software.
