SALARY: From £49,354 pa dependent on experience

LOCATION: Milton Keynes

HYBRID WORKING: Our current hybrid working policy requires a minimum of 60% of working time to be based in the Milton Keynes office however flexibility is expected to meet the needs of the business and the role.

HOURS / CONTRACT TYPE: Full time, permanent - Working 35 hours per week

We're looking for a Treasury Accountant to manage cash flow, liquidity, and treasury risks while ensuring strong financial controls and compliance. This analytical, compliance-focused role will be instrumental in delivering accurate cash reporting, optimising liquidity, and supporting sound financial decision-making.

What you'll be doing:

  • Lead daily treasury operations, ensuring timely cash reconciliations, payments and transaction monitoring.
  • Manage the organisation's short-term liquidity position, optimising internal and external funding and maximising efficient cash utilisation.
  • Review and approve daily trading activity, ensuring compliance with policies, risk appetite and regulatory requirements.
  • Partner with Treasury, Controlling and Accounting teams to validate and challenge cash flow forecasts.
  • Own the integrity of the 'cost of money' P&L, maintaining accurate and up-to-date funding and interest inputs.
  • Lead month-end treasury accounting and reporting, delivering journals, accruals, variance analysis and clear commentary to stakeholders.
  • Drive balance sheet integrity through preparation and review of reconciliations, ensuring issues are identified and resolved promptly.

Essential experience & skills:

  • Qualified accountant or working towards a UK qualification (e.g. ACCA, CIMA, ACT or AAT).
  • Experience within treasury or finance, ideally in financial services or banking.
  • Strong understanding of cash management, treasury controls, and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel, with working knowledge of SAP or similar systems.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to support junior colleagues and work collaboratively.
  • Analytical, detail-oriented, and confident in problem solving.
  • Solid knowledge of treasury operations, including cash management and bank file processing.
