VW Audi Specialists are looking for an experienced Vehicle Technician / MOT Tester to join our busy, well-established independent German vehicle specialist in Hitchin. We are a family-run garage established in 1996, specialising in Volkswagen, Audi, SEAT, Skoda and other German vehicles, with dealer-level diagnostic equipment including ODIS, VCDS, ISTA and Autel.

We are looking for a reliable, skilled and motivated technician who takes pride in their work and can carry out repairs, servicing, diagnostics and MOT testing to a high standard. The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out:

  • MOT tests to DVSA standards
  • Servicing and maintenance
  • Brakes, suspension, steering and clutch work
  • Timing belts, water pumps and general mechanical repairs
  • Fault finding and repair on electrical and mechanical systems
  • Working as part of a busy workshop team
  • Liaising with the workshop controller/service advisor where required

Requirements:

  • A valid MOT Tester licence
  • Strong mechanical experience
  • Experience working on German vehicles preferred
  • Full UK driving licence

Salary between £35,000 - £45,000 depending on experience. Full-time, permanent position. Busy workshop with consistent work. Opportunity to work on a wide range of German vehicles. Bonus structure available for the right candidate. Monday to Friday working hours, with one Saturday per month.
