The job will be as a mechanical apprentice, where you will be trained and developed into a fully qualified pipefitter. At the end of the apprenticeship, you will be able to read drawings, install pipes correctly, and install various systems that include a wide range of plant and material. You will also be introduced to commissioning and verification of different types of mechanical systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in installing commercial and industrial pipework systems (steel, copper, stainless, PE/PP, ductile iron).
- Cut, bend, thread, join pipes using mechanical fitting techniques.
- Assemble flanges, valves, pumps, strainers, and specialist fittings.
- Participate in site surveys and preparation work.
- Maintain tools, equipment, and materials safely.
- Adhere to all health, safety, and quality standards on infrastructure sites.
- Collaborate with plumbers, pipefitters, mechanical engineers and site supervisors.
