The predicted salary is between 40000 - 50000 £ per year.

As the Junior Buyer you will support the Plant & Procurement team in the sourcing and coordination of plant, tools, equipment & materials. You will be required to support with the day to day admin roles required for the procurement process to run smoothly. You will work closely with the plant/procurement buyers and project teams to ensure all data is up to date and correct.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Senior Buyers to undertake all purchasing aspects for plant, fleet & materials.
  • Ensure that any assigned purchasing requisitions are delivered in a timely manner and in line with the project requirements.
  • Ensure that key governance aspects are adhered to for Procurement processes and procedures, including all modern slavery requirements.
  • Raise internal invoices on a monthly basis for all kit and vans out on hire to projects.
  • Process internal and external invoices via SAP Concur to ensure all costs are captured efficiently and effectively.
  • Ensure required purchasing documentation is produced and approved at the appropriate levels.
  • Review purchase order status and ensure appropriate people approve.
  • Update purchase order and on/off hire trackers to ensure all data is correct and issue to project teams to review.
  • Support the Plant/Procurement and Accounts team by investigating invoice queries and ensuring all necessary internal procedures have been carried out.
  • Maintain an up to date log of equipment’s calibration/examination dates and inform project teams when they are due.
  • Maintain accurate records for plant and equipment in line with organisational and regulatory requirements and for audit purposes.
  • Build, maintain and manage internal relationships and keep up good communication.
  • Provide Audit support when required.
  • Maintain an ethical approach to tasks and relationships in accordance with relevant VVB policies.

Requirements

  • Previous procurement/buying experience.
  • Raising purchase orders and processing quotations.
  • Communicating with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Workable knowledge in MS Office programs, namely Excel and Word.
