A key role within the department of Planning ensures that the projects assigned given necessary support during design, installation and handover phase to perform at its optimum level from a delivery, commercial, financial and resource perspective. This role includes management of all planning personnel & duties across the Old Oak Common project for MEP package.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and Manage Planning duties on Old Oak Common Project for Anthro JV.
  • Maintain Cost & Resource loaded Programme throughout the duration of the Contract.
  • Prepare & Manage Programmes and progress narratives for Clause 32 updated Programmes.
  • Prepare & Manage comprehensive programme narratives for Clause 32 Programmes.
  • Ensure monthly project review meetings take place on programme delivery, resource utilisation and cost/revenue.
  • Assessment of the planning needs for the project to ensure effective delivery of the project taking into consideration maximum efficiency, availability, cost and location.
  • Ensuring robust project protocols & processes for planning are followed and the subcontract requirement maintained.
  • Making sure clause 32 programmes and all associated deliverables are issued to client each month on time.
  • Managing Programme communications on CEMAR and regular follow up meetings are arranged with client team to ensure accepted programme through out the duration of the project.
  • Manage Programme comments from client are addressed in each programme and programmes are re-submitted.
  • Liaise with Design team continuously and ensure design deliverables are managed and tracked regularly on programme including its impact on procurement and installations.
  • Liaise with Quality & Assurance team continuously and ensure hand over deliverables are managed and tracked regularly on programme including its impact on test & completion as well as completion.
  • Liaise with Commercial team continuously and ensure project controls deliverables are managed and tracked regularly from programme including its impact any movement in target cost.
  • Liaise with Procurement team continuously and ensure material procurement deliverables are managed and tracked regularly from programme including its impact any movement in target cost as well as installations.
  • Liaise with Operations & Delivery team continuously and ensure installation deliverables are managed and tracked regularly on clause 32 programme.
  • Liaise with Operations & Delivery team continuously and ensure installation deliverables are managed and tracked regularly on 4 Week Look Ahead programme. Ensure Look Ahead programmes are issued on weekly basis in agreed format (MS Excel or Aphex) to BBVS.
  • Manage & Maintain clause 32 programmes in line with agreed target cost throughout the duration of the project.

  • Manage & Maintain clause 32 programmes in line with agreed material volumes and regular quantity tracking to be available throughout the duration of the project.
  • Liaise with Operations team continuously to ensure on site resource levels are levelled up to ensure efficient delivery of works without impacting the cost to completion.
  • Liaise with Operations team continuously to ensure robust project reporting is in place and Daily shift reports are integrated in to programme to ensure efficient delivery of works without impacting the cost to completion.
  • Carry out impact assessment as per clause 62 requirement for all the compensation events in line with agreed Change control process.
  • Manage planning team deployed on the project and ensure all planning deliverables for the project are delivered on time as prescribed in the subcontract works information.
  • Supporting for the selection and recruitment of the planning team for the project
  • Maintain market intelligence and awareness; raise issues to project board on potential risks to the project.
  • Supporting Planning Team by carrying out similar duties on VVB Projects nationally as requested by the Head of Planning.

Requirements

  • Minimum NVQ/HNC in engineering.
  • Experience and detailed knowledge of planning software and its operational requirements.
  • Be aware of the inter-discipline requirements of design and construct projects
  • Can evidence substantial career experience in planning.
  • Experience in leading multidiscipline team.
  • Be a competent and have experience in the production of planning related documentation.
  • Previously worked within the infrastructure environment (utilities/civils etc)
