The Technical Assurance Manager will be accountable and responsible for all the technical assurance within their designated projects, with co-ordination from the Design Manager and Engineering Managers for each project. The role shall ensure compliance with both the clients and VVB's technical assurance procedures for design, engineering, procurement and construction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Author and own the project Technical Assurance Plan (TAP).
- Lead the planning, coordination, and delivery of all Technical Assurance activities in line with the project Technical Assurance Plan (TAP).
- Ensure all assurance deliverables are completed to support Design & Verification Certification and system acceptance.
- Act as the primary technical assurance interface with end clients, clients and other assurance stakeholders.
- Maintain oversight of assurance status, risks, and compliance across all engineering disciplines and supply chain partners.
- Maintain assurance trackers, dashboards, and reporting for senior leadership and client stakeholders.
- Developing and managing effective communication and liaison with all relevant internal and external stakeholders to ensure that requirements are identified, assessed, and appropriately integrated into the project.
- Promote the creation of a work environment, supported by leadership, which fosters openness, trust, communication, teamwork, empowerment, innovation, and satisfaction.
- Develop and maintain the Requirements Management Plan aligned to client processes.
- Ensure capture, allocation, and traceability of requirements from Client Standards and Employer's Requirements, Station/System Requirements Specifications, and Interface and stakeholder requirements.
- Audit the project for compliance with the requirements management plan.
- Establish and manage Configuration Management processes in line with client standards.
- Identify and define control Configuration Items (CIs) for systems, assets, and documentation (Hardware and Software).
- Maintain configuration status accounting and technical baselines (design, standards, and requirements).
- Ensure change control processes are robust and aligned with project governance.
- Develop and maintain the Verification & Validation (V&V) Plan and Matrix aligned to client and contractor requirements.
- Day to day functional management of assurance personnel supporting the delivery of projects within their designated projects.
- Act as a VVB Mentor for Engineering Graduates and Apprentices.
- Support the Head of Engineering and Design in annual performance reviews of the engineers in accordance with approved procedures.
Qualifications:
- Previous working experience in a similar role.
- HNC or equivalent in an engineering discipline.
- Professional Membership of a relevant professional engineering institution e.g. IET, IMechE, IFE, CIBSE etc.
- CSCS Card – AQP or PQP min.
- Full UK driver license and use of own car.
